B.J.K. Tampi (b. 1938) was a college lecturer in Kerala for three years before joining the Indian Police Service in July 1962. He served in the Delhi Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Goa Daman & Diu, Himachal Pradesh and Tripura. He also served in Delhi on Central Deputation. Retired in March 1996 in the rank of State Police Chief.
